VIP membership · twenty places
A plan for your practice. And someone who holds you to it.
Most bookkeepers know roughly what they should be doing. Very few have a written plan for the year, a quarter mapped out, and somebody who asks how it went. That is what VIP is.
- No application form
- No minimum term
- Cancel from your account
The cap is not a marketing device. Twenty is the number Kris can give proper attention to. When it is full, you go on the waitlist — and you still get the call.
Honest about fit
VIP is not for everyone. Here is the truth about it.
The members who get the most from VIP have been here for years. The ones who leave after two months were usually never the right fit. Both of us would rather know that early, so read this properly.
VIP is for you if
You are running a practice and you are ready to work on it, not just in it.
- You have clients and income, and you want the next stage to be deliberate rather than accidental.
- You will block out a few hours a quarter to plan, and you will actually turn up to the calls.
- You want somebody to tell you the truth about your numbers, not agree with you.
- You are willing to do something between the calls. The plan is not the point; acting on it is.
- You are a bit fed up of working it out on your own.
If that sounds like you, the next step is a free healthcheck and a conversation — no form, no pitch deck.
VIP is not for you if
None of these make you a lost cause. They just mean something else will serve you better right now.
- You want help getting started, but you are not yet ready for a structured annual plan and regular accountability. Foundation is the better place to begin.
- You want the templates, the pricing tool and the community, but not the accountability. That is Foundation, and it is a perfectly good answer.
- You are hoping somebody will do the work for you. Kris will help you decide what to do. You still have to do it.
- The next three months are already impossible — a house move, a new baby, a health thing. Come back when there is room to think.
- You want a quick fix. This works over years, not weeks.
Not the right time? Foundation is £15 a month and you can move up whenever you are ready.
What VIP actually is
A rhythm, not a library of videos.
Everything in Foundation stays. What VIP adds is the planning structure and direct time with Kris, on a rhythm that repeats so it becomes how you run the business.
An annual plan, written down
Where the practice is going this year, what it needs to earn, and what you are actually going to change. Guided, one step at a time, with a session with Kris to finish it properly.
A quarter you can hold in your head
The year broken into ninety-day chunks with a handful of things that matter, so you stop carrying a list of forty jobs you will never get to.
Someone who checks in
A quarterly conversation about what happened, what did not, and what changes next. Not a telling-off — the point is to adjust the plan, not to feel bad about it.
1:1 time through the year
Mentoring calls when you need them — a pricing decision, a difficult client, a hire you are not sure about. Book them yourself from your account.
Planning Days, twice a year
Spring and autumn. A day set aside with other members to do the planning properly, if you would rather not do it alone at the kitchen table.
Everything in Foundation
The secret group, the templates, the pricing software, the training, the coffee and chats. None of it goes away.
How you join
There is no application form.
There used to be. It was slow for you and slow for us. Now there is a healthcheck, an honest page about what VIP asks of you, and a conversation.
Take the healthcheck
Twenty-five statements about how your practice runs today. It scores five areas and tells you where the weak point is. Ten minutes, and it is useful whether or not you go any further.
Read what VIP asks of you
A plain page: the planning, the rhythm, the time it takes. Nothing to fill in. If it is obviously not for you, you will know in about ten seconds and you can stop.
Half an hour with Kris
Book it straight from your healthcheck result. Kris has your scores in front of him, so it is a real conversation, not twenty minutes of "so tell me about your practice". You are both deciding.
Join, if it is right
You pay nothing until after the call and you both agree it is right. Then it is £99, which covers your first month and your annual planning session, and £49 a month from month two. No contract, no minimum term.
If all twenty places are taken, you still have the call and you go on the waitlist. A full programme is not a reason to skip the conversation.
What it costs
£99 to join. £49 a month from month two. Stop whenever you like.
The £99 is not an admission charge. It covers your first month and the guided planning session that goes with it — the most hands-on part of the whole year. Nothing is taken until after the call.
Once, after the call. Covers your first month and your guided annual planning session with Kris.
No minimum term. Cancel from your account, no phone call required.
Why the first month costs more
Almost all of the work in VIP is front-loaded. In your first few weeks you get a guided annual plan, a session with Kris to finish it properly, a quarter mapped out and a review. That is the bulk of a year's effort, packed into the beginning.
Paying for it as it happens means you are not tied into a contract to make the numbers work, and neither of us has to pretend the first month is a trial. You have bought a piece of work, and you get it.
Start with the healthcheckPrices include the Foundation membership in full. Nothing is added later.
The awkward questions
Ask the thing you are actually wondering.
What if the call decides it is not for me? +
Then you have lost half an hour and gained a scored picture of your practice, which is yours to keep.
Sometimes the honest answer is "Foundation will serve you better for now", or "come back after you have got through the next quarter". Kris will say so and tell you what would change the answer. Nobody is put on a list and quietly ignored.
Am I tied in? +
No. There is no minimum term and no contract. You cancel from your account whenever you want, and you do not have to ask permission or sit through a retention call.
The joining fee is the only thing paid up front, and it buys a specific piece of work rather than a commitment.
What if all twenty places are gone? +
You still do the healthcheck and you still have the call, and then you go on the waitlist. When a place comes up you get it.
If it has been more than about three months since your conversation, expect a short catch-up first — a lot can change in a practice in a quarter, and it would be daft to start you off against a plan you have outgrown.
How much of my time does this actually take? +
The annual plan is the big one: a few hours, broken into steps you can do across a week rather than in one sitting. After that it is roughly half a day a quarter, plus the calls.
There is a monthly prompt to set your priorities, which takes minutes. Weekly goal tracking exists if you want it and is switched off unless you ask for it.
I am already a Foundation member. Can I move up? +
Yes. It is the same healthcheck, the same honest page and the same conversation — sign in first so it uses the account you already have.
Moving you across from Foundation is handled after the call, so you are never paying for both and you do not lose time you have already paid for.
Do I need to be a certain size? +
No. There is no turnover threshold and no minimum client count. What matters is that there is a practice to plan for and that you have the headroom to work on it.
If you are still in the very early days, Foundation genuinely is the better value, and moving up later costs you nothing.
What happens if I go quiet for a while? +
Life happens, and missing a month is not a crime. You will get a friendly nudge, and if you have been away a while Kris will get in touch personally rather than a system quietly downgrading you.
If it turns out VIP is not getting used, the honest suggestion may be to move back to Foundation and keep your planning history for when you want to pick it up again. That is always a conversation, never something that happens to you automatically.
Start with the healthcheck. Decide after the call.
Ten minutes, free, and you will know more about your practice at the end of it than at the start — whichever way you go.
