Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Alliance, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Stripe for payments and subscriptions.
- Postmark for sending email.
- Google for calendar scheduling of mentoring calls, file storage and web fonts.
- Bunny.net for streaming course videos.
- Our web hosting provider, which stores the website and database.
If you choose to connect an AI assistant or other third-party tool to your member account, we share the information you authorise with that tool. You can remove that connection at any time.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to protect your information.
How long we keep it
- Account and practice information: while you are a member, then for up to two years so you can return without starting again, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Payment and purchase records: six years, to meet tax and accounting rules.
- Contact form messages: up to two years after we last reply.
- Server logs: usually no more than 90 days.
- Website visit records: up to 25 months.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in to the member portal and to protect forms from misuse. It expires when you close your browser. We do not use advertising cookies.
We count visits to bkpr.co.uk, our blog and the member portal with our own tool, which works without cookies. It records the page you view, the site that referred you, your device and browser type, and an anonymous code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day. On its own this cannot identify you or follow you from one day to the next, and it is never shared with third parties. In the member portal we do not record page titles or which records you open. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding which pages are useful. You can stop this counting in your browser by opening bkpr.co.uk/?analytics=off.
If you accept when our cookie banner asks, we also set one analytics cookie, bkpr_vid. It holds a random code that lasts up to two years and lets us recognise the same browser across those three sites. If you then sign in, create an account or sign up for one of our free resources, we link that code to your account, so we can understand which pages and campaigns lead people to join. We only do this with your consent, we ask again every six months, and none of it is shared with third parties. If you decline, the cookie is not set. You can change your answer at any time: open cookie settings.
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when it downloads them.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or complete it;
- ask us to delete it, or to restrict how we use it;
- object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests, including for update emails;
- receive information you gave us in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, contact us. We will reply within one month. There is normally no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Keeping it safe
We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls and trusted providers to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password for your account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will let members know by email.
